CSI's Department of Public Administration invited Ms. Hibaq Mohamoud Ismail to give a guest lecture on December 13, 2022. With our sophomore class, she spoke on the significance of the UNICEF-funded district development framework's kid consultation component. Since Ms. Hibaq works in a senior position at the Somaliland Local Government Institute (LGI), she was able to explain to the students how children are taken into account and consulted at the district level through the inclusion of a district development framework in Somaliland local governments. Ms. Hibaq has an in-depth understanding of the UN JPLG Program's operations in Somaliland as well as the decentralization process in Somaliland. JPLG continues to emphasize local governance and decentralization across Somaliland as a result. We anticipate that the students will gain a lot of knowledge from this lecture and apply it.
