CSI/LGI Burao Training Centre was conducted Monitoring & Evaluation Training to the Regional Civil Servants

The Civil service institute (CSI) was conducted five-day training on Monitoring & Evaluation for 15 Regional coordinators and 5 other government agencies managers in Togdheer Region. The training was conducted from 01st to 05th September 2019 at Burao Civil Service Institute Center, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.  20fully attended for the five days, four out of these twenty were female whilst the fifteen others are male.

The objective of the M&E course was to assist participants in understanding the purpose of and being able to use, monitoring and evaluation in their work. The objectives focused on designing Result-Based Monitoring and Evaluation.

The course used the international standard Monitoring and Evaluation approach as the main subject. This meant using standards terms and fixing the M&E within a Result Based Management Framework. The course also linked high-level objectives to Government Priories and Strategies in order to work alongside the process of managing the activities, budget, outputs, and assumptions collecting and recording, and analyzing the M&E data. This emphasized the need for Togdheer regional coordinators and managers to be closely associated with the M&E and use its findings regularly to make decisions on formative planning.

The different methods and processes of analyzing the monitoring data were presented in terms of both quantitative and qualitative and how these can be combined to triangulate and evidence the monitoring information reported to stakeholders.

The training took place in Burao and 15 of the regional coordinators completed the training and 5 managers.
